Because it is a low-voltage system, each project should be planned before installation begins, including film layout, wiring path, transformer placement, control method, edge protection, and final testing. The film is applied directly to clean, dry glass using an adhesive backing and must be installed dry—water, slip solution, and wet application methods should not be used.
Once installed, each film section is connected to a properly sized transformer that delivers the required operating voltage. Panels must be wired in parallel, not in series, and electrical work should be completed by a licensed electrician.
